Technical Assistance and Training
The Chicago Project undertakes a number of activities to assure programs are responsibly managed and to assist sites in achieving their individual objectives. These include:
Site Technical Assistance/Coordination – The Chicago Project provides support to partner communities as well as to facilitate coordination of efforts and knowledge transfer among the CeaseFire sites. The participation of site staff in outreach supervisor meetings, intercommunity forum meetings, steering committee meetings and monthly outreach worker training sessions also offer opportunities to track the sites' progress.
Training – Since outreach workers regularly encounter situations with clients and community residents that require them to make reasonable and appropriate decisions, they must have the skills necessary to address a variety of everyday events. Regular training sessions by Chicago Project staff and outside experts seek to enhance outreach worker skills and knowledge.
Documentation and Reporting – The Chicago Project works with community partners and outreach staff to clearly articulate goals, solve problems, and convey site concerns to the Project management. Extensive documentation of site activities is made and collected by the Project's Evaluation Unit for review and analysis.
